Evening Star

His mind wandered to the far…
And distant mountain forest…
And the pond lined with flowering bushes…
And beautiful pines…
As a young Indian brave…
He loved swimming there…
His bare backside showing…
Just above the water…
The contrast between…
His dark cinnamon colored skin…
And his sun deficient bottom was noticeable…
He was there for his vision…
His warrior name…
As he meditated and day dreamed…
Lazily swimming as agile as an otter…
He realized the sun was already sleeping…
And the moon had awakened…
A hawk suddenly took flight…
It’s silhouette outlined against the moon…
His…vision was there…
Doing a double take…
He saw a beautiful Indian maiden…
His heart skipped a beat when she stepped…
From behind the bushes…
In the light of the evening stars…
The beauty of her body…
Against the outline of the forest…
Was almost more than one could grasp…
Caught up in the moment…
He could scarcely breathe…
She turned and her eyes met his…
Locking in an unforgettable gaze…
It was as if time was standing still…
Then, in an instant, the vision was gone…
The vision…of his name…of his future…
His name…Nighthawk…
His future…Evening Star…
